Position description We are in an exciting period of growth and we are looking for an experienced Applications Engineer to join our team, contributing to the development of new and existing sensor applications. This is a "hands on" role as part of a highly motivated, multi-disciplinary and dynamic team and will be crucial to bringing our current ideas through from initial prototype to customer acceptance. We are working on a new suite of sensors to respond to the increasing demand for situational awareness sensors and autonomous operations at sea; our customer’s ultimate success depends on our ability to solve these cutting-edge problems.

Responsibilities •Develop new and existing technical relationships with customers and partners.
•Act as a product advocate and champion.
•Provide a direct link between internal engineering teams and the external customers.
•Capture and champion customer requirements throughout the business.
•Supports engineering in translating customer's needs into a product features.
•Establish, maintain and extend in-depth technical expertise in the latest product.
•Provide on-site customer support and follow-up for new applications.
Requirements Essential skills:

•Involved at all stages of new product design from proposal to delivery.
•Major contributor to technical documentation and communication with customers.
•Deep understanding of at least one major vessel bridge system (navigation, positioning, control, automation).
•Hands-on experience in marine system installation, configuration and training.
•Good knowledge of root cause analysis on Microsoft Windows platforms and electronics.
•Some travel to customer sites (onshore) or on vessels for sea trials (offshore).


Desirable skills:

•Understanding of vessel Dynamic Positioning systems and position measurement sensors.
•Project Management.
•Degree qualified engineer or equivalent experience in a relevant area.
•Experience in a similar customer facing role in the marine industry.
