Position description

Responsibilities In terms of freight management the job holder will be responsible for guidance, preparation and monitoring of routing specifications for incoming national and international shipments for direct and route handling, for which our compnay is the freight payer for transport costs.

• Interface function between purchaser and supplier with regard to transport issues
• Preparation of flat-rate routing orders based on economically cost-effective aspects for "standard shipments", which become part of the GTC's Obtain-ing transport prices at daily price level for "non-standard shipments" and organisation the global transport processing of incoming shipments
• Preparation of tenders and agreement of general tariffs with freight service providers for "race tracks" (e.g. general tariffs for incoming groupage shipments or air freight rates for regular transports)
• Obtaining the necessary documents accompanying the goods (e.g. certificates of origin) from the supplier for import customs clearance (customs-preventing preferential agreements)
• Regular monitoring and updating of framework tariffs with freight service providers
• Control of compliance with the routing specifications Training of purchasers with regard to necessary knowledge
• Checking whether it would be reasonable to change orders free or not free of charge in purchasing in relation to the supplier
• Regularly check whether new suppliers are available in SAP and communicate the routing specifications to them
• Regular determination and reporting of KPI's

Material Master Data Management:
• Material master data maintenance in the SAP System for foreign trade aspects for newly registered material and for up to now unmaintained existing material

Cooperation with and support of the purchasing department with regard to
• Obtaining of necessary data from suppliers according to foreign trade law
• evaluation/audit of the data provided by suppliers
• supplier-related mass queries and import of those data into the SAP system
Requirements • Good knowledge in the areas of technical foreign trade and customs import & export (Union Customs Code)
• experience in the transport sector for all modes of transport (road, air, sea) and hazardous goods
• Ideally knowledge in the field of export control law
• Very good SAP knowledge
• Good knowledge of MS Office
• Good command of written and spoken English and German
• Completed training as a shipping merchant or foreign trade merchant
• Several years of relevant professional experience
