Operational Excellence Manager

Wartsila Water Systems Limited is a subsidiary company of Wartsila Corporation and is a leading supplier of waste and water treatment systems for applications across the marine, oil and gas industry. The company provides standard and customised installation packages for both new build and retrofit applications, with options extending to full global through life support.

Wartsila Water Systems currently have an opportunity for an Operational Excellence Manager to lead continuous improvement activities throughout the whole Water Systems business both in Poole and Germany.

Position description Together with management team identify and prioritize the operational improvement needs and opportunities in area of responsibility through both direct observations and analytics.
Consider the whole value chain when prioritizing improvement needs.
Define the target end-state and tactical implementation plans (including milestones, resources, stakeholders and risks) to reach that.
Create commitment in line management and personnel for the changes by active communication, coaching and participation. When needed, facilitate OE Academy workshops,
Personally drive the implementation of Operational Excellence initiatives, working closely together with the line management.
Advise/coach the managers and personnel on necessary leadership behaviours and operational development with daily presence in operations.
Implement performance indicators to measure operational improvements and ensure those are used over time to sustain the results.
Share best practices with other units of Wärtsilä.
Support the line management in the sustainability of implemented improvements and new ways-of-working over time in order to ensure long-term business impact. implement the process confirmation routines.
Requirements •Lean Six Sigma
•Project management (Agile & Lean methodologies)
•Educated to degree level
•Trained in and experience in application of wide range of Lean tools
•Very strong analytical and numerical skills
•Strong relationship building and stakeholder management
•Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills and competent use of other Microsoft 365 applications
•Excellent presentation, engagement and communication (both written and verbal)
•Change management leadership
