We are looking for a Visionary Leader for the position of Market Development Director for Energy Solutions, Middle East, Asia and Australia area.
Market Development Director plays key role in future development and direction of the Energy Solutions business strategy.
As a Market Development Director your main tasks are to
- Develop, execute and lead Market Development Projects in selected area and countries. You are a driver for opening up new markets for our technology and business lines.
- Prepare action plan including system-level value proposition development, customer business case development, active origination, digital etc marketing, roles and responsibilities
- Facilitate the making of the Area strategy
- Identify industry trends and incorporate them into Wärtsilä’s business development strategy
As a Market Development Director you will have a wide range of external stakeholders from policy makers and research institutes to key power industry companies. Internally the work is done in close co-operation with Market Development Team, local Business Development and Regional Business Development teams. For successful execution of the work you need excellent communication and networking skills. Presentations at various seminars and events will be part of your tasks.
As an example of your typical work week, it would include analysing area markets and customer behavior. You review and evaluate new business opportunities for Wärtsilä solutions. You develop and implement marketing campaigns and create sharp messaging and outlines for the marketing content. You lead, by example, market development projects with internal and external stakeholders.
We expect that you have MSc or similar university degree. You should have previous experience and comprehensive understanding of the energy sector, power generation markets and specifically deregulated electricity market design. You need to have power to influence and able to sell and negotiate. Proven track record from market development duties is highly appreciated as minimum 5 years working experience with supporting the management.
