Position description We are looking for a dynamic high performer to join our fast paced and exciting Services Team. Our field service engineers & superintendents are regularly assigned to attend to our customer’s installations (ships, rigs, and power plants) for complex equipment troubleshooting and repairs for many days or weeks at a time. Responsibilities Service Operations Coordinator you will:
• Lead and coordinate complex Field Service activities, including personnel, spare parts, costs, and time
• Support field service personnel when they are assigned on a job
• Act as contact person for customer during the jobs
• As the work scope changes on a job you will be required to communicate with the customer, our engineers, and sales the changes required and any relevant financial impacts
• Comply with Safety and ISO processes for personnel, tools and machines to ensure safety, accuracy and quality of all services provided
• Suggest investments in tools to improve the Field Service job performance
• Cooperate with others in order to ensure the right resources are assigned for every job
• Manage the jobs in SAP
• Take responsibility for briefing and debriefing of the engineers before and after the jobs
• Ensure that the work is executed according to Wärtsila Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental guidelines and customer site procedures.
• Follow up the service work orders until invoicing including change orders, technical documentation, timesheets, travel expenses, and vendors invoices
• Develop and implement the Field Service processes

Requirements Fluent in English. Spanish is a plus

• Project Management skills

• Detail Oriented

• Knowledge of MS Power Point, MS projects, Excel and Word
• Previous knowledge of Field Service processes such as Commissioning, Warranty, Sales, Training and Customer follow up
• Communication and listening skills, ability to deal with people of different nationality
• Strong ability to delegate, follow directions and work under pressure
• Ability to create and maintain a positive, motivated environment
• Wärtsilä history knowledge
• Understanding of basic financial aspects such as cost, margin, revenue, & rework
• Able to verify sales quotations for proper job scopes, man hours and costs
• Strong customer relations skills
• Motivation to learn and grow professionally

Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 5 years related experience, or associates degree and 8 years related experience, or high school diploma from technical schools (GED) and 10 years related experience as one of the following:
• Project Manager or Field Service Coordinator for complex equipment and field service within the maritime or energy sectors

• Field Service Superintendent or site leader for complex equipment for the maritime or energy sectors

• Technical Manager from the maritime or energy sectors

• Technical service experience for complex equipment such as medium or high speed engines

• Training or Sales background from medium or high speed engine OEM
• Previous experience as a service coordinator or project manager for complex equipment & field service in the Maritime or Energy sectors

• Ability to read and understand basic Electrical/Mechanical drawings

• Knowledge of medium or high speed diesel engine types and their auxiliaries

• Supervise maintenance and/or trouble shooting on medium or high speed engine products
