Position description POSITION SUMMARY:
• Manage Communications activities – internal, external for Wartsila in China
• Strategically support the business teams in customer marketing communications, through activities like events, press releases, media relations
• Work with local business leaders (MD, heads of business units, heads of support functions) to align with sales and go-to-market strategies
• Work with regional and global members of Communications to implement global campaigns in China while reporting key on-goings in China
• Lead the relationship with the local PR agency (if any), ensuring that the deliverables are aimed towards raising Wartsila China’s business profile and corporate reputation, both internally and externally
• Be responsible – together with the Communications Specialist responsible for Digital Communications – for creating the annual Communications plan for Wartsila China in conjunction with sales teams, with accountability for delivering this plan against agreed KPIs / targets
Requirements REQUIREMENTS:
• Extensive experience in external communications, including press releases, media pitching, messaging and internal communications, including intranet, town halls, internal newsletters
• Proven success in media relations – you have good relations with the leading business and trade publications in China
• Social media savvy
• The ability to work closely with business unit colleagues to ensure communications plans and tactics align with corporate, Wartsila China and business unit objectives
• Demonstrated ability to interpret and translate business activities into communications materials that contribute to improved business performance.
• Demonstrate a solution-orientated approach to work and contribute to a high performing team
• Track record in executive communications and experience working with senior leaders
• Have a natural disposition towards being creative in both content and execution of marketing and communication projects

University, communications degree or similar • At least 5 years of experience in a Marketing Communications or Communications role, preferably in a B2B company
