Workshop Engineer- Turbocharger - Vancouver

Position description Main responsibilities:
-Independently execute Field Service and workshop activities/repairs mainly on ABB and Napier turbochargers
-Provide internal and external work reports according to Wartsila standards.
-Perform site audits
-Collect and organize time and expense reports. Report and inform administrative personnel as required
-Report executed work according to Wartsila standards
-Promote Wartsila Products and Services
-Turbocharger troubleshooting skills
-Able to operate balancing machines for turbochargers
-Perform pre-commissioning and commissioning of ABB and Napier turbochargers.
-Ability to read and understand turbocharger diagrams
Requirements Engine knowledge
-Ability to read and understand turbocharger diagrams
-Strong knowledge of Wartsila diesel engine types and their auxiliaries A+
-Perform pre-commissioning and commissioning of ABB and Napier turbochargers.

Technical analysis
-Strong knowledge of turbochargers.
-Ability to analyze and solve product related turbocharger problems.
-Ability to carry out relevant measurements.

Service general competencies
-At least some relevant working experience on Wartsila products.
-Field Service experience and workshop experience

Quality and safety certificates and knowledge
-Occupational health and safety
- Has theoretical knowledge of the specific expert area
- Excellent technical product and equipment skills
- Perform and analyze complex repair and troubleshooting of the above TC brands
- Interact and support the customer during the work execution
- Assist and solve technical and operating problems related to the TC
- Proactive advice and promote available products and solutions to the customer
- Provide internal/external service work reports including conclusion/recommendations
- Customer Oriented
BS degree + 5 year of related experience, or AS degree and 5 years of experience, or High School Diploma /Technical / Vocational school (preferably Marine, Mechanical) At least 5 years’ experience with ABB/Napier turbochargers
