Operational Purchaser - Lahore

Wartsila Pakistan is looking for Operational Purchaser for its Lahore office.

Position description Responsibilities and Accountabilities

. Well aware of local supplier network for all relevant procurement.
. Well aware about the local taxes applicable by provincial/ federal government(GST/ WHT etc)
. Manages local purchase requisitions according to defined strategies and frameworks
. Verifies purchase request quality and correct buying channel, aligns with end users on missing specification
. Ensures requisition has correct approvals
. Executes local, low value purchase orders if no contract exists; executes purchases within existing contracts
. Handles invoices and arrange timely bookings. Also responsible to resolve issues pertaining to invoices, if any.
. Acts as the single point of contact for the indirect purchasing (i.e. requisitions)
. Ensures the respect of the purchasing procedures and policies.
. Ensure efficient use of the purchasing systems by all users providing them assistance when necessary
. Acts as a link between the local users and the rest of purchasing organization on operative level
. Coordinates local contract implementation tasks with country manager, category managers and users:
. Participates in the contract implementation according to the plan
. Promotes the use of global/regional contracts
. Monitors recurring spot buys and focus to reduce the total amount of spot buys.
. Highlights potential for catalogue and contract creation based on recurrent free text requests.
. Acts as point of contact for suppliers on local level to resolve operational issues and to distribute / escalate other issues
. Continuous monitoring of Contracts/ Agreements/ Purchase Orders dates.
. Support compliance and savings reporting within the country
• Supports strategic sourcing initiatives by providing input on local specifics.
