Position description We are looking for a Development Manager to coordinate fire protection. The position is primarily planned to be in Wärtsilä Energy Solutions, Vaasa Finland.

Responsibilities - Perform comprehensive fire protection descriptions and assessments of plant facilities
- Develop and support the implementation of the fire protection concepts for the various power plants together with engineering partners and protection suppliers
- Leading the fire protection product team and systems team to meet the financial and quality related targets for the products and enhance the fire protection awareness through the organisation
- Act as a recognised link to enhance the communication between different engineering disciplines (Process, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical and Automation) related to fire protection systems
- Provide prompt guidance for the development and approval of fire protection related requests from the sales and projects
- Finding the technical solution to satisfy different stakeholders in a complex situations
- Review, develop, and maintain fire risk evaluations and engineering support documents
- Provide daily fire protection related operational support for sales and projects
- Review identified documents having a potential impact to fire protection and life safety
- Support with acceptance testing of fire protection systems with the project teams
- Support the documentation management for the inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire protection systems.
Requirements - B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Fire Protection Engineering or an equivalent combination of related education and experience
- 5-10 years of working experience
- Knowledge or experience about the industrial fire protection systems preferably related to power plant facilities or oil and gas sector
- Knowledge of fire protection engineering principles and their application to fire risk analysis in industrial facilities, systems and processes
- Knowledge and willing to learn and interpret of NFPA Codes and standards and country specific differences related to standards
- Knowledge of computer-based analytical methods related to fire hazard analyses; ability to communicate clearly and effectively through the oral and written word including good presentation skills
- Ability to perform and evaluate fire hazard analysis and risk assessments
