Engine Expert

Wärtsilä Services is looking for an experienced Technical / Operational Manager EDG.
As a member of the Product and Technical Management within Nuclear Services organization you will manage team of engine experts who are providing support to deliver parts, field services, projects and especially contracts for Emergency Diesel Generators and their auxiliary components used in nuclear power plants.
Regarding contracts, you will ensure assignment of tasks, performance and communication of the team who act as technical experts to dismantle, overhaul and assemble diesel engines in the workshop.
This position is located in Surgeres, France.

Position description Plan, schedule and manage the team of engine experts locally and remotely
Develop and enhance relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Participate in technical meetings with customers and authorities
Improve continuously processes and tools of Shared Business Operations for global Nuclear Services organization
Participate to develop and maintain obsolescence and design change management processes together with product managers
Develop and maintain key competence of the team of engine experts
Requirements B.Sc or M.Sc Engineering or automotive industry

Experience of hands-on working with combustion engine assembly, engineering or testing for 5 years
Experience of operational manager position to enhance team performance for 10-15 years
Experience to write technical root cause analysis, troubleshooting and modifications
Experience to work with quality management system (e.g. ISO9001 or ASME NQA-1)
Experience to work with product data management tools and SAP is seen advantage
Experience to work in nuclear industry a great advantage

Problem solving and decision making capability
Willingness to learn 4-stroke engine functionality
Ability to work independently as well as part of team
Excellent communication, influencing and networking skills
Strong quality mind-set to work according to procedures and instructions
Nuclear specific training courses on quality and safety aspects
Technical reporting skills (documentation is written in English)
Possibility to travel; collect product knowhow inside France
Fluent oral and written command in English and French
Knowledge in Spanish, Finnish, China, Korea culture and languages is seen as an advantage
