Position description Wärtsilä Energy Solutions is now looking for a Director, Engineering to the Engineering team in the growing Renewables & Storage business line. In this key position you will define the targets, lead and motivate the Engineering and Product integration team.

Preferred location for this position is Madrid, Spain or Helsinki, Finland.
Responsibilities - Accountable for the Engineering department in the development of cost competitive solar photo voltages and energy storage power plants.
- Accountable of the power plant KPI’s compliance
- Develop the optimal (CAPEX, OPEX, Energy yield) power plant for different geographies, and deliver the full package of basic engineering
- Develop and maintain new competitive power plants including documentation, instructions, guidelines and related databases for them
- Assist the Areas in the subcontractor selection, and support them during the development of the detailed engineering
- Support construction, commissioning, and start up teams
- Provide advanced technical support to the Operation & Maintenance of the power plants
- Ensure that designs are made according to rules and regulations
- Lead, manage & follow-up of budget and action plan for the Engineering department
- Create a way of working with emphasis on teamwork throughout the organisation
- Maintain and develop relationships within Wärtsilä and external stakeholders (Technical advisors, Customers & Financial entities)
- Create and further develop technical solutions and ensure they are applied in cost optimized (CAPEX, OPEX, Energy yield) new designs
Requirements - MSc degree, and BSc in electrical engineering or equivalent
- Solid technical background and multiple years of work experience in Solar Photovoltaic power plants
- Strong & demonstrated solar photovoltaic industry network (developers, EPC contractors, financing entities & technical advisors)
- Experience in working with a diverse range of cultures and relationships across shareholders, colleagues, clients and stakeholders
- Team work attitude

- Fluent in English, both oral and written
- French and/or Spanish is seen as a strong value
- Ability to travel
