Position description The Field Service Representative serves as the front line contact with our customers and is responsible for hydro turbine and generator disassembly, field machining, reassembly, alignment and commissioning of the units. He/She is responsible for managing assigned projects within budgeted cost and schedule requirements. Additionally, he/she is the liaison between our customers and the American Hydro Project Manager and Project Engineer.

•Review customer specifications as needed to satisfy contract requirements regarding all field work scope
•Procure manpower and equipment and control related costs throughout the field service job assignment
•Expedite manpower and equipment as necessary to satisfy schedule and quality commitments
•Provide weekly reports of job progress to American Hydro’s Field Service Supervisor
•Keep customer and American Hydro Project Manager informed of all pertinent job site developments as soon as possible
•Represent American Hydro and contract interests with regard to hydro turbine and generator disassembly and reassembly, related field work and commissioning of new or rehabilitated units
•Proper use, maintenance and security of department tools and assigned vehicles
•Timely and accurate reporting of personal and company expenses against assigned job(s)
•Report for main office/shop work when discharged from finished field assignments

Post secondary diploma
Ideally a minimum of 5 years of hydro turbine field experience with preference given to candidates exposed to hydro rehabilitation projects. Ability to use various inspection instruments and hand tools with a strong mechanical aptitude and understanding. Previous hydro turbine disassembly, evaluation, repair and reassembly experience is essential.
Strong customer service, sales aptitude and clean driving record are required.
