Position description Wärtsilä Energy Solutions is looking for a General Manager, Strategy and Business Intelligence.
You will be part of the Sales & Marketing team within Engine Power Plants business line, conducting relevant market analysis to deepen knowledge of market, customers and competition to strengthen in-house customer understanding, facilitating the creation of Energy Solutions strategy and leading strategic actions. Position is located in Helsinki or in Vaasa, Finland.
Responsibilities - Collect relevant information on customers, competitors and markets in order to perform analysis, consolidate the conclusions into reports, presentations and actionable items to drive strategic growth of Energy Solutions
- Support Business lines and Areas in strategy creation and implementation, driving our organization towards ES strategic targets
- Develop and maintain industry specific market outlooks and trends in close co-operation with other stakeholders
- Understand business objectives and prospective customers’ preferences
- Provide monthly Market & Competitor Review for Energy Solutions Management Team and organization
- Arrange regular competitor reviews and keep the organization up to date in market developments
- Manage and develop business intelligence platform
- Work closely with Investor Relations team through interim result and annual report publications
- Facilitate strategy workshops, manage internal & external networks and data providers
- Support growth by constantly seeking for new business opportunities
- Mergers, acquisitions and partnership coordination
- Lead the annual strategy update efforts
Requirements As an ideal candidate you would have:
- MSc or equivalent technical or commercial degree
- Minimum 5 years working experience within the power industry
- Understanding customer and its business
- Financial knowledge and analytical skills
- Adequate knowledge of data collection methods
- Good presentation and networking skills
- Ability to work independently as well as with cross-functional teams
- Previous experience from market analyst tasks seen as a benefit
- Strategic oriented mind-set, positive and analytical approach
- Fluent spoken and written English
- Ability to travel
