The Manufacturing Engineer will manage and work within the Value Stream on the creation and delivery of the manufacturing process, imbed health & safety into how we work and ensure we exceed customer expectations for cost, quality and delivery.
The Manufacturing Engineer will also manage and work with the Value Stream on the creation and delivery of:
•EHS integration into work instruction SOP’s.
•Deploying lean philosophy / Departmental champion
•Processes and methods for manufacturing
•Process and method improvement initiatives and projects
•Manufacturing capability improvement initiatives and projects
•First line quality issues, statistical analysis
•Cell and Flow line design.
•Responsible for integration of EHS, Quality, Cost and Delivery processes into the SOP to support the Value stream.
•Become the EHS champion for the value steam,
•Become the Lean champion for the value stream
•Analyse and develop manufacturing methods, tools, systems and facilities
•Create a “visual” value stream.
•Assist the team in the daily management and communication of Safety, Quality, Delivery and productivity targets,
•Work with the supply chain team and the planning and costing engineer to manage stock holdings and replenishment systems.
•Prepare and propose recommendations about changes that need to be made to manufacturing resources, procedures, facilities, systems and technology to grown business and increase margin.
•Liaison with Design Engineering to implement best practice with regard to Design for Manufacture (DFM).
•Act as a technical expert in manufacturing development daily activities and projects
•Create and maintain required manufacturing documentation.
•Support a Continuous Improvement Plan within Manufacturing by developing and implementing new leaner processes / methods, cost reduction initiatives and improving current operation performance
•Act as the first line quality champion for all manufacturing related issues in the value stream. Champion the 8D process when required.
•Engage with the value Stream team to encourage a wider participation of root cause analysis of operational/technical issues and associated problem resolution.
•Work with the SQA to drive corrective actions back into the supply chain when required

* Lean six sigma Green Belt desirable but not essential.
* Degree in Manufacturing/Engineering discipline or equivalent desirable but not essential.
* Production engineering experience.
