Accounting and Bookkeeping:
Meeting local statutory accounts and local bookkeeping, annual closing end monthly reports requirements as well as Valmet reporting (IFRS) and financial requirements for a German business unit located in Darmstadt, with assistance of Valmet Financial Services and local finance. Accurate and timely tax items handling covering VAT issues. Open to change you have an active role in developing current practices and making sure that latest accounting principles are applied.
Tax, tax audits & statistics:
Accurate and timely completion of company VAT returns on monthly level for German authorities and on quarterly basis for Swiss and Poland authorities. Ensuring all necessary information accurate and available for annual external statutory audit, main local contact for external auditors regarding statutory accounts, Valmet Corporate Finance actively involved. EU refund procedure for Input tax, tax return for taxes based on income with vendors annually, main local contact, Valmet Corporate Finance tax department actively involved. Completion and reporting of monthly/quarterly/annual documentation for local authorities for Statistics. Monitoring of the internal compliance rules at Valmet
Reporting, Budgeting & Estimating:
Valmet Corporate monthly reporting actual, budgeting and estimating in defined areas, covering mainly items mentioned in previous sections. Sales Office and Sales costs reporting, covering actual, budgeted and estimated figures. Development of costs reporting and awareness of costs controlling in organization. And of course you will be the one who works closely with relevant auditors.
For this opportunity within a global group, in the best case you bring along:
A recognized qualification in controlling and accounting on at least a senior accountant level and a minimum of five years experience in a similar position.
Qualification according to the German “Bilanzbuchhalter (IHK)”, additional qualification to “IFRS (IHK)” accountant with stress on taxation is necessary.
Furthermore experience of working in an international organization and matrix would be an advantage.
Organizational skills combined with high service orientation, team work and the ability to work also independently. Communicate effectively is required.
Excellent working knowledge of both German and English (fluency in speaking and writing) is essential for this position.
Proficient with personal computers, accounting software and excel.
