Job description: Valmet’s Paper Business line has solid experience of developing and providing advanced technologies for board, tissue and paper production. Valmet’s offering ranges from key components and individual machine sections to entire production lines and machine rebuilds.

Valmet Board and Paper Mills business unit supplies machinery and machine rebuilds for the board and paper industries. Our expertise is rooted in experience. We’re proud to say that we have been co-operating with our customers in more than 700 board machine and 900 paper machine deliveries worldwide. Working closely together with papermakers has given valuable knowledge that is seen in our innovative paper machine and automation solutions and services.

Air Systems Technology Unit develops and delivers board and paper machine air systems. Our offering helps customers to increase productivity, achieve lower operating costs, save energy and improve quality. Air Systems Technology Unit works in close co-operation with other businesses in Valmet, providing expert support to them and in common business development. Our main location is Raisio, Finland.

We are now looking for Head of Runnability Systems Product Group. Our runnability systems for board and paper machines are spearhead products that help our customers to increase the overall performance of their production. We are considered as leaders in this technology in our market.

In this position, you take strong responsibility over your products and drive competitiveness and customer value. Your tasks are to develop competitive global offering, launch initiatives to ensure growth and profitability (also in service business), provide engineering services and maintain high performance team. You continuously develop your products for increased efficiency in product management, engineering and supply phase. You ensure qualified and safe products in your group. You will develop capabilities, product portfolio and ways to operate to ensure long term success. Your team consists of R&D and engineering specialists.

In this role, you report to the head of Air Systems Technology Unit. You work in matrix environment serving both capital and service business lines.
Requirements: • Minimum Bachelor's degree in a suitable field.
• Business acumen.
• Understanding of board and paper making process and market.
• Understanding of product development, product management and engineering.
• Capability to build, inspire and lead teams, also in matrix, to achieve overall goals and objectives.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, as well as presentation and influencing skills. All other language skills are a benefit.
• Knowledge of key cultural differences. Skilled at working across global boundaries as well as organizational boundaries.
• Good co-operation competence.
• Willingness to travel.
