Lead Engineer, Marine Control System Specialist

Job description: The solutions of Valmet's Automation business line are designed to maximize the profitability of our customers' businesses by improving production performance and cost, energy and material efficiency. Our worldwide network of experts supports our extensive range of process automation solutions and services. We serve our customers in the process industries, power generation, marine, and oil & gas, pulp&paper.

We are looking for a Lead engineer to lead our delivery projects. In this role you are responsible for the technical implementation of project deliveries ensuring timeliness, cost efficiency and meeting of customer expectations. You will play an important role in our global engineering organization and your location will be Gliwice (Polish CSE Engineering Marine Hub). The main tasks are to design Marine Control System (hardware and system design, application engineering: 70% time), test and commission the product in the yards: mostly in France, Germany, Turkey (and in the future others: Finland, Italy, Korea…)
Requirements: B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in automation (or similar) is very good background for this position. In addition, you have skills & experience in delivery projects, distributed control systems (DCS) and/or programmable logic controllers (PLC), automation engineering and commissioning activities. Process knowhow of Marine and experience related to DCS/PLC Marine control systems is considered as a strength.

You are familiar with engineering related quality assurance and control methods and these are guiding your daily work. You are a customer oriented self-driven team player, having the abilities to lead a project team. Your project planning competences & systematical way of working leads to excellent results. You have a hands-on and flexible attitude in everything you do. To be successful in this role you should have fluent written and spoken English & Polish communication. Good German, French communication skills would be an additional strength. You should have good Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel) and driving license (at least B category)
