Field Service Engineering Specialist

Job description: Are you looking to work independently in a challenging but intriguing environment? Does solving problems and making customers happy sound like ideal job satisfaction? If you are a mechanically inclined degreed engineer, with some technical experience, take a look!

This position will provides technical support on Valmet equipment and its proper installation, including troubleshooting assistance.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
-Supervises checkout and start-up of new systems or single machine installations, in accordance with contract.
-Conducts training for the customer at all levels (maintenance, operator, etc.).
-Assists in establishment and maintenance of mechanical database for improved maintenance planning.
-Supervises repair and rebuild of Valmet equipment in the field. Implements product modifications, improvements, and upgrades as directed.
-Establishes program for preventive maintenance inspections.
-Provides emergency service as required.
-Communicates on daily basis, to appropriate manager, all field activities. Submits on a timely basis detailed reports of every service call, including time and expense charges. Uses good judgment and prudence in minimizing such charges.
-Remains alert to and follows up on business development opportunities (paid service, spare parts, maintenance contract, repair/rebuild, etc.)
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or education/experience equivalent.

1-3 years of project and/or mechanical field experience in a mill, consulting engineering, or supplier environment.

In-depth mechanical and process understanding of total product line. Strong mechanical aptitude, engineering and problem-solving skills. Chemical and/or Mechanical Pulping equipment knowledge a plus.
