Purchasing Engineer

Job description: ValmetĀ“s Automation business line is looking for a Purchasing Engineer in Tampere Supply Center. Your main responsibility is to purchase components and assemblies for production, project and spare part purposes. You will take care of certain suppliers and have a very important role in ensuring smooth and on time delivery process of projects and spare parts.

You will work in close co-operation with the project delivery organization, R&D and especially category managers, with whom you maintain and develop supplier relations further. You will be located in Tampere.


Requirements: We are looking for a person with a background in technical procurement, preferably in manufacturing industry. You have a degree in engineering, along with good knowledge of mechanics and understanding of technical documents. We highly appreciate experience and knowledge of the Lean ERP and Aton PDM systems. Experience of DCS / QCS products is a plus.

To be successful in this position, you need to have a highly organized way of working as well as strong negotiation, team working and problem solving skills. An analytical and problem solving mindset with practical and very hands-on attitude will get you far. As we are working in a global business, you need to be fluent in Finnish and English, both written and spoken.
