Design Engineer, On Site Roll Services, Mill Improvements

Job description: The experts of Valmet's pulp, paper and power business segments specialize in processes, machinery, equipment, services, paper machine clothing and filter fabrics. Our supply and experience cover the entire life cycle of the process: new production lines, improvements and services.

We are now looking for Design Engineer for our roll and component service engineering unit, which is part of the MIL Services business line and based in Jyväskylä, Finland.

As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the service engineering of delivered rolls and components and for managing subcontractor planning, as necessary. In addition to this, you will be responsible for planning roller quotations and preparing related calculations. You will also actively participate in the other stages of delivery projects by providing technical support related to acquisitions, manufacturing and assembly. If necessary, you will also participate in maintenance realization, testing and commissioning.
Requirements: You should have an appropriate Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical engineering and/or several years of experience in engineering. You are proficient with 3D design softwares, such as Catia V5/V6. Familiarity with different types of rolls and experience in engineering are considered a plus.
You are systematic and self-directed by nature, and motivated by achieving goals. You have the desire and ability to direct and organize the work of others as well. You are comfortable working in different roles in collaboration with your own project team, engineering agencies, other Valmet interest groups, clients and international business partners.
You communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in writing. Other language skills are considered a plus. The position requires willingness to travel.
