Product Sales Manager

Are you the new Sales enthusiast we are looking for?

At Valmet, we serve our customers keeping in mind our core commitments: safety comes first, close to customers, solutions to your needs and people you can trust.

As a Product Sales Manager, you’ll support the UK service-led business by securing orders for roll servicing, roll covers and replacement rolls for our roll workshops in Haslingden (Lancashire, UK), Cernay (France), Jyväskylä (Finland). You'll be working closely with the established customer base of UK Paper and Board mills. Developing long term customer relationships is key to this role to enable you to pursue order enquiries following conversations with mill engineers or production personnel, gathering relevant information to facilitate the production of quotations. Presentations of quotations and technical discussions to generate the sale will be regular activities as well as post-sale monitoring of progress, handling customer complaints / warranty issues. In addition you will follow up with customers as part of the relationship maintenance and further sales generation, produce sales reports and reports on sales visits as necessary; you'll also keep up to date with the latest Valmet roll technology,

Naturally, you'll keep an eye on existing customers' rolls and visiting sites during shuts to identify any areas of sales potential

Requirements: You should have a relevant HNC / degree-level qualification in an engineering discipline and have technical expertise on rolls. You will naturally be self-motivated and very much a self-starter and will have strong interpersonal skills and the confidence to present proposals and technical content to customers. Although you will be working independently much of the time, you will also need to have strong team-working skills in order to ensure work progress is satisfactory to meet customer needs.

You will be a fluent speaker / writer of English and have a valid driving licence together with the willingness to travel across the UK and occasionally overseas.
