|Job description:||JOB DUTIES: Prepare and maintain employment records related to HR events such as hiring, termination, and transfers, using HRIS, including mobility issues such as short- and long-term assignments, country entry and domestic or international relocation. Interpret and explain HR policies and procedures, including mobility policies, processes and procedures. Process hiring and mobility related paperwork. Inform employees of details such as compensation, benefits, relocation packages, and expatriate/inpatriate taxation questions. Troubleshoot benefit issues. Maintain current knowledge of HR concepts including Canadian benefits, including healthcare, life, disability, RRSP and fringe benefits, as well as corporate acquisition and demerger activities. Schedule or conduct new employee orientations, health and safety training, cultural assimilation training, and any other inpatriate training. Maintain and update human resources documents, such as organizational charts, employee handbooks or directories, or performance evaluation forms. Analyze employment-related data and prepare required reports for the Compensation & Benefits Manager. Confer with internal and external business partners regarding employee moves, domestic and international travel. Draft or provide input on employee assignment agreements and addendums, and initiate services with relocation company. Confer with finance and home-country/local HR to ensure the proper cross-charge of expenses for transfers. Participate in global mobility projects. Confer with internal stakeholders and external legal counsel on the preparation and filing of immigration documentation.|
REQUIREMENTS: Employer will accept Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration. A minimum of 24 months of experience with global compensation including compensation and payroll practices associated with employment and labor laws and Canadian benefit policies, retirement and pension plans; global mobility and relocation; vendor management and U.S. immigrant, non-immigrant and global visas; delivery of HR change management initiatives as it relates to global compensation and benefits; HR project management experience; current certification as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR); acquisitions and demergers within the HR function; HRIS systems (ADP, SAP and Basware) and Microsoft Office Suite; Must be willing to travel up to 10% of the time within the U.S. and Canada, often at short notice.
