Job description: Are you looking for new challenges within automation engineering? We are happy to tell you that our Paper Business line will grow it's Automation department during this autumn offering 6 new positions.

Our engineering organization is a group of over 300 professionals, divided in 10 teams. Open positions are in following areas in automation engineering:
- Automation Technology, Jyväskylä (Asko Heikola)
- Project Automation Manager, Järvenpää or Jyväskylä (Jarmo Järvinen)
- Software Engineering, Järvenpää (Harri Lindberg)
- Fluid Engineering, Järvenpää or Jyväskylä (Jani Venemies)
- Electrical Engineering, Järvenpää or Jyväskylä (Jukka Alatalo)

As an Technology engineer you will work primarily as a key person to develop, maintain and improve our machine automation solutions and engineering tools. You will also participate as technology specialist in our delivery projects.

As an Automation manager you will lead the automation deliveries of the customer projects together with the project manager from the start of the project to the end of warranty period. You act as the first customer contact in all automation issues. You work closely with all engineers and other participants involved in the project from all Valmet business lines and locations.

As an Automation engineer / chief engineer you will participate to demanding delivery projects at our customers’ sites and take care of planning, testing and implementation of your part of the automation. There are several projects ongoing simultaneously and your days won’t never be similar.
Requirements: You have a suitable M.Sc. or B.Eng. engineering degree in machine automation, electrical or fluid area.

It’s beneficial to have basic understanding of paper industry, but the more important is your motivation to become an expert in your own area.

We gain our results by working seamlessly together and that’s why you need to have good collaboration skills. You are determined and self-driven and motivated by achieving targets. You enjoy working together with our customers and other stakeholders.

English is our common language in Valmet, but Finnish and other language skills are seen as an advantage. In this role you’ll have some business trips to make sure your projects are performing well and customer satisfaction is on high level.
