Job description: Are you the new customer focused Optimization Engineer for Valmet?

The Optimization Engineer provides high level expert services to optimize Valmet client’s mill performance in terms of production, quality, cost and environmental impact. You perform multidimensional performance analysis of the client’s processes to identify potential improvements, troubleshoot and correct process issues as well as developing and maintaining a customer performance improvement roadmap. You will be making your own decisions on how best to serve the client and their process objectives.

Valmet is a leader in the Pulp & Paper and Energy Industries globally with over 12,000 professional personnel. We are looking for the best talent who want to lead our Automation division to moving our customers performance forward.
Requirements: Education: Bachelor of Science in Chemical, Electrical (EET or EE) (Masters or PhD preferred), Control Engineering, or Pulp & Paper Engineering Technology or Two-year technical degree plus experience in the pulp and paper industry. Kraft bleaching, oxygen delignification and cooking experience a plus. At least two (2) years experience in advanced process controls, troubleshooting and performance analysis and optimization.

Location: South East USA, Atlanta, Georgia area preferred

Experience: Previous Management experience with a team is a plus.

Travel: 50% travel typically within North America but travel may be international on occasion

Other: Maintain a valid driver’s license. Collaborates well and must work independently, making decisions often under stressful conditions. Must have the ability to form professional relationships with customers and employees. Self-managed and able to plan department priorities, including during travel.
