Responsible for the Biddeford Thru Air Drying Technology Unit Nonwoven and Re-winder product sales according to the overall PAP Tissue Mills Business Unit (TBU) strategy and customer plans. The focus is to provide effective technical sales management for Through Air Drying (TAD), Re-winders and other related products to customers in China and Southeast Asia. Booking projects in the areas that meet TBU profitability targets is the prime objective.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
•Contribute to the overall Profitability of the Tissue Business Unit.
•Represent Valmet and TBU's image to the nonwoven and tissue customers in China and Southeast Asia consistent with the directives of the TBU core team.
•Coordinate with other TBU and Valmet locations to assure that TBU is represented as one unified company to our customers.
•Identify customer needs and respond to internal and external customer inquiries for TAD and related products for nonwovens.
•Provide effective technical sales support as team participant or sales leader for TAD and related product sales for nonwoven in China and Southeast Asia.
•Handle inquiries, issue offers, and provide direct customer communications for potential new customer sales projects.
•For projects as the sales Team Leader, lead negotiations and close orders.
•Assist in identifying new or changing market needs that could lead to new product offerings for nonwovens and tissue customers.
•Participates directly in technical presentations and contract negotiations for assigned nonwoven customers.
•Develops and maintains reference and technical sales materials
•Provides regular sales activity updates or reports as requested.
•Tracks and reports on the competitor’s activity in the area.
•Travels domestically and internationally, at times with little advance notice.
•Bachelor degree in related engineering or scientific discipline from an accredited institution, or equivalent technical work experience in the nonwoven industry.
•Eight years’ experience in related technical field including: sales experience involving direct customer contact, experience in the tissue or industry, and exposure to foreign markets, customers and business practices.
•Ability to travel with little or no prior notification.
•Must be able to effectively communicate ideas, goals, and a variety of other technical and business information orally and in writing to customers, management, and other employees.
•Fluency in speaking and writing Chinese and English.
•Engineering level math skills including algebra and trigonometry.
•Must be able to apply principals of logical thinking to a wide variety of problems.
•Must be able to work with, and draw conclusions from, a variety of nonverbal data (formulas, economic statistics, graphs, etc.).
