Senior Project Engineer

Job description: Participate in project planning, including overall scheduling, risk analysis/contingency plan, and installation checklists. Organize the definition phase of the project, including internal/external kick-off meetings, system definition, customer communication, and freezing dates. Perform system initialization and configuration by internal and external resources; organize and run the internal testing and customer Factory Acceptance Testing; responsible for managing site work. Responsible for site safety; coordinate work schedules for on-site personnel; handle customer communication including safety, progress reports, and site schedules; handle change requests together with the project manager; manage the punch list for timely completion; manage completion of application/performance report(s) including value/ROI delivered; and participate in Lessons Learned review with the project team. Perform high level engineering for Max DNA and Valmet DNA DCS systems, such as Safety systems, MCS, data link, process definition, and system conversions or migrations. Prepare and perform I/O checkout; advanced troubleshooting during the testing and commissioning phases of the project, and feedback of relevant corrective actions to the product home. Provide training for customer operations and maintenance personnel; finalize system documentation and prepare commissioning reports, including value/ROI delivered.
Requirements: Employer will accept Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, or Pulp & Paper Engineering Technology or related field, two years of work experience in job offered or two years of work experience in a related occupation. Experience must include:1) experience in the Power Generation and Pulp & Paper industries; 2) experience in process controls engineering using Max DNA and Valmet DNA systems; 3) QA/Testing; Data Analysis; Java; UNIX; and TCP/IP. Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable. Must be available to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States.
