Technical Service Representative

Job description: At Valmet, our Technical Service Representatives play a crucial role in supporting our customers’ operations and ensuring their equipment is running at optimal levels. Our focus is on finding individuals with a strong background in electrical controls and programming. Do you enjoy that field, but not sure if you’ve got the right background? We’re willing to invest in you by offering training opportunities and providing you expert guidance from our team of knowledgeable professionals.

On a day-to-day basis you might provide remote troubleshooting assistance from our offices, support others in the field, or travel to the customer location to deliver critical hands-on support. Service is provided for both planned preventive maintenance repairs, or on an as-needed emergency basis. In the end, our goal is to provide the highest level of commitment and service to our customers.

We’re looking for individuals who are self-motivated and enjoy learning new things – those who are interested in problem solving and troubleshooting, and possess a high level of initiative. Strong mechanical aptitude; hydraulic & pneumatic background a plus; good communication and organizational skills required, along with strong PC skills.
Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from a four-year college or university; or a technical diploma from a two-year college plus acceptable experience of 3+ years in a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency in software programs such as MS Office and other computer skills as required. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Paper industry experience a definite plus.
