Project Manager

Job description: Valmet is where the best talent from a wide variety of backgrounds comes together to produce great results. We're looking for Project Management professionals to oversee projects for profitability, performance, on time delivery, and overall customer satisfaction.

Responsible for the full life-cycle of projects including project reviews, establishing the time frames, determining funding limitations, reviewing project staffing requirements, and allocation of available resources to various phases of the project. Assure timely and accurate communication at sufficient levels within the project team, with the customer, with other primary internal Valmet contacts and with the related vendors. Participate in Project Management & Engineering kickoff meetings, customer kickoff meetings, and other project coordination meetings.

Coordinate with Purchasing related to pricing, procurement and delivery of equipment, materials and services. This may include preparation of tender packages, bid evaluations and negotiation, and preparation of purchase requisitions.

Responsibilities may also include overseeing or participating in equipment installation, start-up and check-out activities as required. May include preparation and issue of Operation and Maintenance Instructions to customer, as well as involvement in customer training activities.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university; or Associate's Degree with 3 to 5 years equivalent experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge of papermaking process/papermaking products preferred, but not essential.

Excellent client management and business literacy skills. Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
