The research group of Electromechanics focuses on electromagnetic energy conversion. Our main research topics are related to multiphysical modeling of magnetic materials as well as numerical analysis and measurement of rotating electrical machines, transformers and inductors.

We are looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher / Project Researcher to work with coupled magneto-mechanical material models and numerical modeling of magnetostrictive devices used in energy harvesting. The exact tasks will be decided based on the experience and interests of the candidate. Background in mechanics, electromagnetics, physics or applied mathematics can be beneficial.

Electromechanics is a recently established research group with a motivated and enthusiastic attitude towards scientific research. We work with state-of-the art modeling techniques and experimental facilities. We actively collaborate on interdisciplinary topics with other research groups at TUT, as well as other universities in Finland and Europe.
The salary will be based on both the job demands and the employee's personal performance in accordance with the University Salary System. According to the criteria applied to teaching and research staff, the position of Project Researcher is placed on the job demands levels 2-4 and the position of Postdoctoral Researcher on levels 5-6. In addition, employees receive performance based salary.
The position will be filled for a fixed term period until December 2018. The commencement date will be March 2018 or sooner if possible.
