Tampere University of Technology (TUT) is an active scientific community of 1,700 employees and more than 8,300 students. The University operates in the form of a foundation and has a long-standing tradition of collaboration with other research institutions and industry. Many of the fields of research and study represented at the University play a key role in addressing global challenges. Internationality is an inherent part of all the University's activities. Welcome to join us at TUT!
The Chemistry and Advanced Materials group has a common strategy of using chemistry approach to design and fabricate functional compounds and materials. We are broadly interested in various application areas, including drug release, photonics, soft robotics, and new energy technologies, and conduct state-of-the-art research in all these areas.
We are looking for 4-5 highly motivated research assistants / summer trainees interested in conducting experimental research. If you are majoring in chemistry or physics (especially photonics), please be in touch in case of further questions, or simply apply for a position!
The tasks will be scientifically driven, i.e., the summer trainees will work as part of projects aiming towards scientific publications. The trainees will be instructed by postdocs or PhD students, but are after getting familiar with their research topic expected to carry out the assigned tasks independently.
We are looking for highly motivated science and engineering students who can work in multinational research environment and have good social and cooperation skills. In addition to chemists, we look also for students with physics/photonics background.
We offer a possibility to work in top-quality research groups and to get familiar with experimental research work in general. The results of the work are possible to be used as part of Thesis work, and may lead to scientific publications.
