|Job description:||We are developing new methods for processing human tissues to support advanced personalized medicine. A qualified student is needed to join the team for a six-month master's project to identify specific materials and methods to enable an advanced 3D tissue processing methods. The student will be co-supervised by Prof Reza Ghabcheloo (TUT, Lab of Automation and Hydraulics) and Prof G. Steven Bova (University of Tampere, medical school), and will work mainly in the Arvo building on the medical campus. The student will work with a dynamic team including engineers, surgeons, pathologists, molecular biologists, and histology technicians. If successful, the project could be extended to support PhD studies to automate developed processes.|
|Requirements:||The successful student will be highly interested in and capable of rapid learning across disciplines including materials science, robotics, chemistry, medicine, pathology, and others. A hands-on person with innovative attitude and ready for extensive experimentation. Excellent written and oral communication skills and excellent ability to solve problems independently will be critical to success.|
|Salary:||The salary will be based on both the job demands and the employee's personal performance in accordance with the University Salary System. According to the criteria applied to teaching and research staff the position of a reserach assistant is placed on the job demands levels 1. In addition, employees receive performance based salary.|
|Trial period:||Trial period of one (1) months applies.|
|Other:||The position will be filled for a fixed term period six months. The commencement date will be as soos as possible.|
