Engineering Materials Science and Solutions (EMASS) gathers together active research groups, who are dealing with engineering materials, especially their surfaces and interfaces, based on a wide range of varying scientific disciplines. EMASS consists of the following eight interlinked research groups: Aerosol Physics, Materials Characterization, Metals Technology, Ceramic Materials, Surface Engineering, Tribology and Machine Elements, Polymer and Elastomer Technology with Fiber Materials Science, and Paper Converting and Packaging Technology. The EMASS research environment covers all industrial material groups, i.e., metals, ceramics, polymers, and composites, giving the ability to interdisciplinary innovations and widespread fundamental understanding of materials processing, characterization and performance evaluation
In TUTs research assessment exercise 2017 EMASS was evaluated for potential world-leading team and we are now looking for new members to our research consortium: one Postdoctoral Researcher for two (2) years and one Doctoral Student for four (4) years position.
Applicant should have competence on improving performance of engineering materials and their surfaces, innovative multifunctional materials and manufacturing technologies with in or between abovementioned research groups.
The applicant should be able to plan and conduct research work independently. We especially appreciate researchers with international academic experience.
Competence should be stated as 4 page research plan (postdoctoral researcher) or 1 page motivation letter (doctoral student).
The postdoctoral applicant should hold an applicable doctoral degree.
The doctoral student applicant should hold an applicable master's degree.
