PHASE 1 Summer Work, Computer Aided Drug Design

Description of position: The CAMD group supports Orion's drug discovery projects with computational chemistry and molecular modeling tools. The summer worker will take part in research and method development projects going on in the CADD group. The Phase I project can be tailored together, it could be e.g. molecular machine learning using open DeepChem/MoleculeNet platforms.

Description of unit: The Computer-Aided Medicine Design (CAMD) group is part of the Medicine Design function that supports all Orion’s drug discovery programs. Key responsibilities of Medicine Design include structure design, synthesis design and organic synthesis, in vitro biology and pharmacology and discovery analytics. CAMD scientists support these tasks by molecular modelling and data analysis methods. The CAMD group plays a major role in all drug discovery projects at Orion.

Requirements: We are looking for a student with >180 credit points from a suitable scientific/technical program. The candidate should have knowledge in e.g:
- molecular modeling
- chemometrics, machine learning
- data visualization using e.g. Python/D3/JavaScript/Spotfire

Good spoken and written English skills are required.
