Orion’s pharmaceutical innovations are created within its R&D organization including for instance non-clinical research, clinical development, formulation development and medical affairs. The organisation employs top professionals in the field of drug molecule development and optimisation.
Biostatics and Support Functions (BSF) platform is responsible for data science and analytics in R&D - like programming, data standards, statistical planning, analyses, modelling and visual design services.
|Description of position:||
Biostatistician/statistical modeler is an essential expert in cross functional R&D teams. Your tasks include statistical planning of R&D studies, statistical analyses, intepretation of statistical results and result reporting. You are an integral part of a team that develops and applies novel analysis methods to extract information from large volumes of drug development data.
Maintain and develop knowledge of relevant research techniques such as modelling, simulation and experimental design are key areas in your career development. Support the new emerging data types including high dimensional biomarker data, such as genetics and genomics. Capability of looking with wide perspective the science, e.g. maintaining and developing collaborative relationships with partner companies and external scientific/academic communities, are benefical skills for the biostatistician/statistical modeller.
We wish you have:
• Academic degree in statistics, mathematics or related field (MSc or PhD)
• Strong methodological background in advanced statistics, simulation, modelling and/or machine learning
• Strong programming and data processing experience, advanced skills to use statistical softwares like SAS and R
• Experience in pharmaceutical industry and pharmaceutical statistics is a benefit
• Growth mindset and innovativeness
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent team working skills
• Fluent spoken and written English

The person can be based in Espoo, Turku or Kuopio in Finland or in Nottingham area in UK or in Stockholm. The person will report to the Head of Biostatistics in R&D.
