Global PLM Project Lead

Application deadline 2017-10-29
Locality Papenburg, Germany
Job description Cruise ships have grown to the size and sophistication of small and smart cities with the size of around 1000 single family homes with their own utilities, propulsion, safety, data networks and entertainment systems. Not only the ships but also the design and production processes are sophisticated and involve large and multi-disciplines teams together with many specialized suppliers.

The necessary design and collaboration processes are already today only possible due to specialized IT tools that were developed over many years. To further the digitalization of our work, we now need to take the next leap and manage all of our product data in a central and integrated data repository to which new CAD authoring tools are connected to. We have prepared this step for quite some time and are now at the brink to implement a new system starting in 2018.

The task is to learn from our experience of our shipyards in Germany and Finland in this area and bring one new, simpler yet more powerful solution to productive application with new business processes.

To lead this effort to successful implementation by uniting our two PLM site teams in Finland and Germany, we are looking for a global program manager for our PLM projects.

Location of work: In 2018 & 2019 most of the time in Papenburg, Germany with frequent travelling (mostly to Turku), later either Turku or Papenburg.

Conditions Requirements:
• Experience with large IT projects
• Project manager experience with strong team leadership skills
• Academic degree in a technical field, computer science, industrial engineer or information management
• Very good English language skills
• Understanding of the shipbuilding industry is a plus while openness to learn about shipbuilding is a must
• Site-neutral attitude
