We at Konecranes Technologies organization are responsible for common core lifting components and concepts used in product designs, digital solutions that make our products smarter. The expertise of our people is wide; from IPR and Innovation Management, through Research, Design, Analytics and AI.

The Chief Engineer will be a member of Core Technology’s Inverter Development Team and will be responsible of inverter development and project management duties. Inverter development team includes experts on various competence areas. Development team duties are typically requirement specification, design, prototyping, verification, configuration and documentation of new inverter products. In the project manager role, the Chief Engineer will lead and execute a project together with project team. Project manager duties include communication and co-operation continuously with external supplier, product platform, supply operations and product management. Majority of communication will be in English language.

The position offers a wide overview to the frequency converter usage in various crane applications and varying tasks starting from the requirement specification until the end of life ramp-down.
What we expect from you Expected education, skills and experience:
- M.Sc. or B.Sc. degree in electronics, electrical or automation engineering (or eq.)
- Over 10 years’ experience on area of frequency converter applications development. Electrical overhead travelling crane experience is an asset
- Project management experience and skills are also preferred
- Knowledge and understanding of IEC 61131-3 programming, automation/electrical design, electronics, reliability analysis and Lean Six Sigma are also valued.
- Good communication and language skills, good Finnish and English, both spoken and written.
